Version: 1.0

  1. Cookie Policy

This policy applies to the websites and cookies operated by Delivery Solutions Ltd., a legal entity registered in Hungary, with its headquarters located at 1033 Budapest, Szentendrei út 89-95. Building X (hereinafter referred to as “DS”).

  1. What are cookies?

A cookie is a small file of letters and numbers stored on your computer, mobile device, or other equipment that accesses the Internet. Cookies are installed on the request of a web server to a browser (e.g., Internet Explorer, Chrome) and are completely “passive” (do not contain software, viruses, or spyware, and do not access information on the user’s hard drive).

  1. What are cookies used for?

These files make it possible to recognize the user’s device and display content tailored to the user’s preferences. Cookies provide a pleasant browsing experience for users and support DS’s efforts to offer comfortable services: e.g., online privacy preferences, shopping cart, or relevant advertising. Additionally, they are used to create anonymous aggregated statistics that help understand how a user uses our websites, allowing us to improve their structure and content without personally identifying the user.

  1. What types of cookies do we use?

We use two types of cookies: session and persistent. The latter are temporary files that remain on the user’s device until the end of the session or the closing of the application (web browser). The fixed files remain on the user’s device for a period defined in the cookie parameters or until manually deleted by the user.

  1. How does this website use cookies?

Visiting this website may place the following types of cookies:

  • Essential cookies
  • Performance cookies
  • Cookies for analyzing visitors
  • Geotargeting cookies
  • Registration cookies
  • Advertising cookies
  • Advertising provider cookies

Essential cookies are crucial for the website to function properly. These cookies do not require prior consent to be downloaded to your device. You can set your browser to block these cookies, but in this case, certain parts of the site will not function properly.

  1. Do cookies contain personal data?

Cookies do not require personal information to be used, and in most cases, do not personally identify internet users. Personal data collected using cookies can only be collected to facilitate certain user functionalities. Such data is encrypted in a way that unauthorized persons cannot access it.

  1. Deleting cookies

Applications used to access websites allow saving cookies on the device by default. These settings can be changed to block the automatic administration of cookies or inform the user each time cookies are sent to the device. Detailed information about the possibilities and ways of managing cookies can be found in the application settings (web browser). Restricting the use of cookies can affect some functionalities of the website.

  1. Why are cookies important for the Internet?

Cookies are the central point of efficient Internet operation, helping to generate a friendly browsing experience tailored to the preferences and interests of each user. Rejecting or disabling cookies may make some websites unusable.

Rejecting or disabling cookies does not mean you will no longer receive online advertising – it just means that it will not be able to consider your preferences and interests highlighted by your browsing behavior.

Examples of important uses of cookies (which do not require authentication through an account):

  • Content and services tailored to user preferences – product and service categories.
  • Offers tailored to the interests of users – remembering passwords.
  • Child protection filters for Internet content (family mode options, safe search functions).
  • Limiting the frequency of ad serving – limiting the number of ads displayed for a particular user on a site.
  • Providing more relevant ads to the user.
  • Measurement, optimization, and analytics features – such as confirming a certain level of traffic on a website, what type of content is viewed, and how a user arrives at a website (e.g., through search engines, directly, from otherwebsites etc.). Websites perform these analyses of their use to improve the sites for the benefit of users.
  1. Security and privacy-related issues

Cookies are NOT viruses! They use plain text formats. They are not compiled pieces of code so they cannot be executed nor are they self-executing. Accordingly, they cannot make copies of themselves and spread to other networks to execute and replicate again. Because they cannot perform these functions, they cannot be considered viruses.

However, cookies can be used for negative purposes. Since they store information about users’ preferences and browsing history, both on a particular site and on several other sites, cookies can be used as a form of Spyware. Many anti-spyware products are aware of this and consistently mark cookies to be deleted in anti-virus/anti-spyware removal/scanning procedures.

Generally, browsers have integrated privacy settings that provide different levels of cookie acceptance, expiry time, and automatic deletion after a user has visited a certain site.

Other security-related issues with cookies:

Identity protection is very valuable and is every Internet user’s right. It is advisable to be aware of potential problems that cookies can create. Since information is constantly transmitted in both directions between the browser and the website, if an attacker or unauthorized person gets involved in the data transmission, the information contained in the cookie can be intercepted.

Although very rare, this can happen if the browser connects to the server using an unencrypted network (e.g., a non-secure WiFi network).

Other cookie-based attacks involve wrong settings of cookies on servers. If a website does not require the browser to use only encrypted channels, attackers can use this vulnerability to trick browsers into sending information through unsecured channels. Attackers then use the information for unauthorized access to certain sites. It is very important to be careful when choosing the most suitable protection method for personal information.

  1. Tips for safe and responsible cookie-based browsing

Due to their flexibility and the fact that most of the most-visited and biggest websites use cookies, they are almost inevitable. Disabling cookies will not allow the user access to the most common and used websites including Youtube, Gmail, Yahoo, and others.

Here are some tips that can ensure you browse without worries but with the help of cookies:

  • Customize your browser settings for cookies to reflect a comfortable level of cookie security for you.
  • If you are not bothered by cookies and are the only person using your computer, you can set long expiry dates for storing your browsing history and personal access data.
  • If you share access to your computer, you might consider setting your browser to delete your browsing history every time you close the browser. This is a way to access sites that place cookies and to delete any visit information at the end of the browsing session.
  • Install and constantly update your antispyware applications.

Many of the spyware detection and prevention applications include detecting site attacks. This prevents the browser from accessing websites that could exploit browser vulnerabilities or download malicious software.

Make sure your browser is always up-to-date.

Many cookie-based attacks are exploiting the weaknesses of older versions of browsers.

Cookies are everywhere and cannot be avoided if you wish to enjoy access to the best and largest Internet sites – local or international. With a clear understanding of how they operate and the benefits they bring, you can take the necessary security measures to can navigate the internet with confidence.

Disabling and refusing to accept cookies can make certain sites impractical or difficult to visit and use. Also, refusing to accept cookies does not mean you will not receive/see online advertising anymore.

It is possible to set in the browser not to accept these cookies or you can set the browser to accept cookies from a specific site. But, for example, if you are not registered using cookies, you will not be able to leave comments.

All modern browsers offer the possibility to change cookie settings. These settings are usually found in your browser’s “Options” or “Settings” menu.
